Reading and sign-in

Published articles and forum discussions can be read without an account. Forum posting requires a forum account. The admin studio uses ChatGPT sign-in to identify the publication owner and restrict editing.

Community forum accounts

Forum accounts use an email address, password and unique public username. We store your email privately for sign-in, a salted password hash, a hash of your recovery code, account creation time, profile choices and moderation status. Email addresses are not verified identities. Verification and reset emails are not enabled; keep your recovery code safe to reset a forgotten password. Changing or recovering a password replaces the recovery code and signs out other devices.

A secure, HTTP-only cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We store only a hash of its random session token. Signing out invalidates that session. Short-lived hashed account and network identifiers limit login attempts, registrations and spam; we do not store raw IP addresses in these limits. These records are separate from readership analytics.

Forum posts, images and prestige

Your username, approved posts, posting dates, rank, title and profile color are public. Your email, password hash, recovery-code hash, pending posts and reader reports are not public. Prestige uses account age, qualifying approved posts and active posting days, with a daily cap; removed, rejected or pending posts do not count. The owner can review submissions and reports, remove posts, close discussions and suspend accounts.

Text passes rule-based abuse and spam checks. New members’ first three qualifying posts, flagged text and all image posts require owner approval. The text filters are not comprehensive. Images unlock through prestige and are checked for file type, size, dimensions and valid static PNG structure. Ancillary metadata is removed. Every image is also manually reviewed before publication; no automated image-content classifier is connected.

You can remove your own posts. Removed content is hidden publicly but retained privately for moderation. Account and forum records remain until the publisher deletes them. Please do not post private information, and report content that violates the community guidelines. Existing discussions created with ChatGPT sign-in retain their historical attribution; new member accounts are separate and do not inherit ownership from an email match.

Publication data

Stories, topics, narrator settings, and publishing schedules are stored by the publication. When you connect an MCP writer, it can read topic instructions, narrator directions, article drafts, and source context, and send back text and illustrations. The connected client operates under its own account and settings. The publication does not call a model API.

Optional browser alerts

The Underworld Kuriboh asks for browser notification permission only after you choose Enable notifications. We store your browser’s push address, encryption keys, topic and format choices, paused status, and delivery results. A secure, HTTP-only cookie lets this browser manage its subscription without a separate account or email address. Alerts travel through the notification service provided by your browser; that provider also applies its own privacy practices.

You can pause or unsubscribe through Follow the news. Unsubscribing deletes your saved subscription, choices, and associated delivery records from this publication. Expired browser subscriptions are removed when the delivery service reports them as expired. Delivery history is retained for up to 30 days and inactive subscriptions for up to one year; cleanup runs during publication or scheduled delivery. Browser and operating-system settings can also block notifications.

Tracked tournaments and sets

When you track a tournament or set release, we save its identifier against this browser’s notification cookie and schedule reminders for 7, 3, and 1 day before the event or release date. For sets, we also save the time zone reported by your browser so reminders fall at 9 a.m. in that zone. Tracking is specific to this browser, not shared across devices. Browser reminders require your permission and an active delivery connection. You can stop tracking an event at any time; unsubscribing also removes your tracked events and sets. Google Calendar links open a proposed event for you to review and save. We do not receive access to your Google account. Calendar downloads are handled by your calendar app and do not automatically sync changes from this website.

Optional article votes

Voting is available only on articles and takes selected by the editor. Your existing ChatGPT sign-in identifies your vote; no additional reader account is created. We store a hashed identifier, your choice, the take and its wording revision, and the time of your latest vote. Names and email addresses are not stored with votes or shown to readers. Each signed-in reader has one current vote per take and can change it. Aggregate results are revealed only after you vote on that take.

Votes remain stored when an editor turns voting off. Editing the take’s wording starts a separate poll so previous votes are not attributed to a different opinion.

Anonymous readership analytics

We count visible public page views to understand which stories people read and where traffic comes from. A temporary random code stored in this browser tab groups page views into visits. It expires after 30 minutes of inactivity, and stored visit codes reset daily. Separate tabs and devices may count as separate visits. To estimate unique visitors, a second random ID is saved in this browser’s local storage for up to 90 days. Its hashed value lets us count the same browser once across return visits during a selected period. It is not tied to your name, account, or IP address. Different browsers, devices, private-browsing sessions, or cleared storage can count separately; a shared browser can represent more than one person. Opting out below clears the saved ID and stops future counting. We store page paths, times, referring website names, approximate country when supplied by our hosting provider, and a broad device category.

We do not store names, email addresses, raw IP addresses, precise location, full user-agent strings, referrer paths, or URL query strings with analytics. Only the publication owner can see the dashboard. Records are retained for up to 90 days; older data is removed when counting or dashboard access runs. Signed-in owner visits and known bots are excluded. We honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Blocking analytics does not affect reading.

Ban-list preferences

We use the approximate country supplied by our hosting provider to suggest a starting ban-list format. We do not request your precise location. A format you choose is saved in this browser and takes priority over the country suggestion. If location information is unavailable, we start with TCG.

Device preferences and hosting

Animation preferences, dismissed introductions, and interface choices may be stored on your device. The hosting provider processes requests needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We have not added third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Advertising

Advertising is currently disabled. If the publisher enables Google AdSense, clearly labeled advertisement areas can display ads supplied by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, subject to the publisher’s consent configuration.
